Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of FormatGo, including cloud and local conversions, accounts, points, licenses, plans, and paid services.
Effective date: August 15, 2026
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using FormatGo, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use FormatGo for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and ‘you’ includes that organization.
2. The service
FormatGo provides file viewing, conversion, compression, download, and related account, usage, payment, and licensing features. Available formats, limits, quality controls, processing locations, and features may differ by page, mode, device, plan, and current configuration.
Cloud mode uploads files to remote infrastructure for processing. Local or Privacy mode performs supported conversion work in your browser, although account, licensing, eligibility, usage, and diagnostic requests may still be sent to FormatGo.
3. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate information, keep your account and sign-in method secure, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account or recognized devices to the extent permitted by law.
You must be legally capable of entering this agreement. The service is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age required by local law. If you use FormatGo as a minor where permitted, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use when required.
4. Your files and permissions
You retain ownership of files and other content you submit. You grant FormatGo and its service providers a limited, non-exclusive right to host, copy, transmit, decode, convert, compress, package, and otherwise process that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, support, and troubleshoot the service.
You represent that you own the files or have all permissions needed to process them, and that their use through FormatGo does not violate law, privacy, confidentiality, intellectual property, or another person’s rights. You are responsible for keeping original files and downloading results before they expire or are removed.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use FormatGo to:
- Process illegal, infringing, abusive, exploitative, deceptive, or unauthorized content.
- Upload malware, malicious archives, corrupted payloads intended to cause harm, or content designed to access systems or data without authorization.
- Probe, disrupt, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, bypass security, evade limits, automate abusive traffic, or interfere with the service or other users.
- Resell or provide access to the service in a way that exceeds your plan or license, misrepresents FormatGo, or violates applicable law.
- Use output or metadata in a way that violates another person’s rights or applicable law.
6. Conversion results
File conversion can change encoding, color, metadata, animation, transparency, quality, compatibility, or other characteristics. Results may differ by source file, format, browser, library, device, or conversion mode. You must inspect results before relying on them and keep an independent backup of important source files.
FormatGo does not guarantee that every file can be opened, converted, compressed, preserved without change, or accepted by a third-party application. A displayed preview is not a guarantee that every frame, metadata field, color property, or downstream use will be preserved.
7. Free usage, points, plans, and licenses
Free usage, points, file allowances, device limits, and plan durations are governed by the current product configuration and the information displayed when you use or purchase the service. Limits may be enforced across guest identifiers, accounts, devices, sessions, tasks, or time periods.
Cloud conversions generally consume at least one point per file, and additional processing time may consume additional points according to the current billing rule shown by the service. A task may continue and result in a negative points balance when its actual cost is greater than the amount estimated before processing. Later points or purchases may first offset that balance.
Local licenses are limited, revocable permissions to use designated browser conversion features for the applicable term and device allowance. You may not extract, forge, share, alter, or bypass permits, signatures, device limits, usage checks, or licensing controls.
8. Payments, subscriptions, and refunds
Prices, currencies, taxes, product duration, included points or permissions, and whether a purchase is one-time or recurring are shown before checkout. Payments are handled by the payment provider identified during checkout and may also be subject to that provider’s terms.
A recurring subscription renews at the disclosed interval until canceled. Cancellation stops future renewal and does not ordinarily reverse benefits already delivered for the current term. Refunds are provided where required by law or expressly stated at checkout; otherwise, completed purchases are non-refundable to the extent permitted by law.
We may suspend entitlements, points, licenses, or accounts associated with a failed payment, refund, chargeback, payment dispute, fraud concern, or conflicting provider event while the matter is reviewed. You remain responsible for lawful charges and any negative balance associated with completed processing.
9. Third-party services
FormatGo depends on third-party authentication, hosting, storage, payment, analytics, and infrastructure providers. Their services and policies may apply when you interact with them. We are not responsible for independent third-party websites, applications, or decisions about whether a converted file is accepted.
10. FormatGo intellectual property
FormatGo and its software, branding, interface, documentation, and site content are owned by FormatGo or its licensors and are protected by applicable laws. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.
If you provide feedback, you permit us to use it without restriction or payment, provided we do not publicly identify you as its source without permission.
11. Changes and availability
We may add, modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue features to maintain security, comply with law, respond to providers, prevent abuse, or improve the service. We may also change free allowances and future pricing. Changes do not remove mandatory rights or obligations already created by a completed purchase.
The service may be unavailable because of maintenance, demand, network conditions, browser limitations, third-party failures, or events beyond our reasonable control.
12. Suspension and termination
We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created security or legal risk, abused resources, evaded limits, failed to pay, initiated a payment dispute, or used the service in a way that could harm FormatGo, providers, or users. Where reasonable, we may allow you to contact support for review.
You may stop using the service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including payment obligations, ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—continue after termination.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FormatGo is provided ‘as is’ and ‘as available.’ We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free or lossless conversion. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FormatGo and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of files, metadata, revenue, profits, goodwill, or data; or the cost of substitute services arising from use of or inability to use FormatGo.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, total liability for a claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to FormatGo for the service giving rise to the claim during the 12 months before the event or USD 100. These limitations do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.
15. Applicable law and disputes
Before filing a formal claim, please contact us and provide a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue. These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the FormatGo operator, without overriding mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. Courts with lawful jurisdiction may hear disputes that cannot be resolved informally.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect service, provider, business, or legal changes. Revised Terms will be posted with a new effective date. Material changes will receive additional notice where required. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.
